THE CHOSEN ONE is Lil Mike Da Vett’s debut EP and a deeply personal introduction to his story of survival, fatherhood, loss, imprisonment, and resilience. The project brings together songs recorded between 2021 and 2023 with newer music created after his release in October 2025, allowing listeners to hear the contrast between where he was and where he is now. Across the EP, Lil Mike Da Vett reflects on the life experiences that shaped him, including surviving a life-threatening shooting, navigating incarceration, fathering three children, becoming a single father of 2, and carrying the pain of losing access to his firstborn daughter when she was six years old, who is now a teenager.

Rather than presenting a story with a finished ending, THE CHOSEN ONE captures an artist returning to his path and continuing forward. The earlier songs preserve the emotions, struggles, and mindset of his past, while the newer material reflects his growth, perspective, and determination after coming home. Together, the project creates a bridge between those chapters, giving listeners the opportunity to understand where his journey began, experience what he endured, and rejoin him as he picks up where he left off.
